The job of a firefighter requires the capacity to understand and use general knowledge drawn from many different professions. Because no two emergency
situations are alike and can happen anywhere or time, firefighters must be prepared to respond to the demands of a variety situations. Candidates are
expected to come to the job demonstrating a better than average understanding of and aptitude for: building construction, electric current, physics,
mechanics, mathematics and medical emergencies.
